Mobi Pro RAW Support

Eyefi Mobi Pro supports RAW transfers. The following article provides details on how Eyefi Mobi apps and Eyefi Cloud handle your RAW images:

How do I enable RAW transfer?

Please see the following articles for information on enabling RAW transfer in Eyefi Desktop:

To enable RAW transfer on iPhone and iPad:

  1. Tap the Menu button
  2. Tap the Settings icon
  3. Tap Imports
  4. Tap Receive RAW

To enable RAW transfer on Android:

How does Mobi Pro transfer RAW photos?

Once enabled, RAW transfer works differently depending on the platform to which you transfer your photos.

On Windows and Mac:

  1. First, your Mobi Pro card transfers your RAW photos to your computer via the Eyefi Mobi Desktop app
  2. The Eyefi Mobi Desktop app stores your RAW photos in your pre-selected folders
  3. The Eyefi Mobi Desktop app syncs your RAW photos to Eyefi Cloud

On Android, iPhone, and iPad:

  1. First, your Mobi Pro card transfers your RAW photos to your mobile device
  2. The Eyefi Mobi app syncs your photos to Eyefi Cloud
  3. The Eyefi Mobi app then creates a high-quality JPG copy of your RAW photo and deletes the RAW photos from the app's storage area within your phone; if you transfer both RAW and JPG photos from your Mobi Pro card to your mobile device, the app will display thumbnails for both versions of the photo

Note: If you've enabled settings to store photos in your Camera Roll or Gallery, the RAW photos will remain on your mobile device.

How does Eyefi Cloud manage RAW photos?

Once the Eyefi Mobi app or Eyefi Mobi Desktop uploads your RAW photos to Eyefi Cloud, we create high-quality JPG copies of your RAW photos. In Eyefi Mobi for mobile devices, the displayed image will always be a high-quality JPG copy, even if you transfer both RAW and JPG to your phone or tablet. In the Eyefi Web App these JPG copies appear next to your RAW photos:

You can check to see which photos are RAW in the mobile app by checking the file's EXIF data:

On iPhone and iPad:

  1. Tap the photo you want to check
  2. Tap the Info icon
  3. Press the tab and slide up to view more file info

On Android:

  1. Tap the photo you want to check
  2. Tap the Menu button
  3. Tap Details

Please be aware of the following limitations for RAW photos in Eyefi Cloud:

  • Users cannot crop, rotate, or otherwise edit RAW photos
  • If you share RAW photos with Eyefi apps and Eyefi Cloud, your share recipients will only be able to download JPG versions of those photos
  • IFTTT currently only delivers JPG files from Eyefi Cloud
